Since our friend moved to San Francisco, I have always wanted to visit this gem! We landed in LAX, and stayed there for a day. Our friend, Henry, suggested the idea of driving to San Francisco at night and Justin and I decided to say yes to his crazy idea knowing that we are all going to be so tired. From LAX to San Fran was only about 6 hours. I secretly thought it was a bad idea but it did not turn out too bad after all. We arrived in San Fran at around 5:40AM. You bet we all went to sleep right away!
We all woke up around 10AM. We were ready for an adventure! China Town was our first destination. This town has sooo much character. Most people were speaking Chinese. Although we did not have a common language, we sure did use our body language to figure out what one was saying. My favorite part was all the fresh vegetables and fruits that we see in every corner. Here are some pictures that I snapped as we were walking around!
We came across these Chinese lanterns, which I thought was supper cool! I’m not exactly sure if these stay on year-round… However, since Chinese New Year is approaching, I was not surprised to see these lanterns up.I have never been to China but this really sets the scenery for me!
For lunch, Henry took us to Kung Pao. The noise of the carts, and people yelling filled the atmosphere. As the carts were going by, we were able to either say Yes or No to the dishes that we see. Have you tried asking someone for the ingredients in a specific dish and not being able to understand the language? Well, the lady spoke in Chinese and we just stared at each other hoping one of us might be able to figure it out. Lengthy sentences just seemed to confuse people so we narrow it down to just asking “Chicken, Beef, and Pork.” We found out that it was the most efficient way!
